ABS-CBN Continues #1 Ranking in the Philippines -- Latest AGB Nielsen

REDWOOD SHORES, CALIF., March 6, 2007 – ABS-CBN Global, the U.S.-based subsidiary of ABS-CBN Broadcasting, the Philippines' largest entertainment and broadcasting company, today announced that ABS-CBN continues to dominate the competition and retains its top ranking for ratings market share in the Philippines according to AGB Nielsen Media Research. The latest research results show ABS-CBN with eight out of the top 10 most viewed programs in the country. In the United States, ABS-CBN airs its programming on the cable and satellite premium channel, The Filipino Channel.

The latest AGB Nielsen Nationwide Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM) Panel Report for All Homes, All Day in National Urban Philippines report show ABS-CBN is the leading network in National Urban Philippines from December 31, 2006 to January 6, 2007 with 12.2% AMR/41.3% SHR. ABS-CBN programs dominating the top 10 programs in the Philippines include: “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal P4m Edition,” “Super Inggo,” “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal,” “Maging Sino Ka Man,” “Komiks,” “XXX Exklusibong Explosibong Expose,” “TV Patrol World” and “John En Shirley.”

“ABS-CBN is dedicated to bringing quality programs that speak to the lives and loves of Filipinos all over the world,” said Raffy Lopez, chief operating officer of ABS-CBN Global. “Viewers outside the Philippines enjoy many of the same top rated news and entertainment programs on our globally available network, The Filipino Channel.”

"The Filipino Channel, commonly known as TFC is a household name,"  said Fernando Solis, president of Pinoy Atbp. Wireless Source, a Preferred DirecTV dealer based in Jacksonville, Florida. "When you say TFC its like saying Colgate for toothpaste or Frigidaire for refrigerator. TFC is directly identified with family-oriented Filipino television and cable entertainment."

As the perennial favorite with viewers, ABS-CBN has again come out on top of viewership ratings reports. An AGB Nielsen nationwide survey released in October 2006 showed ABS-CBN leading nationwide television viewership share against rival networks in the Philippines.

"ABS-CBN and its TFC are also favorites among Filipino American viewers because it is a complete and well-rounded package that is easily available nationwide on the DirecTV platform and technology," said Solis.

The AGB Nielsen NUTAM uses an on-line “people meter” to collect statistics on television viewership in the entire Philippines through 24-hour monitoring of the panel homes.

The Filipino Channel (TFC) is the number one Filipino network in the world and is operated by ABS-CBN International. TFC is viewed by nearly two million Filipinos around the globe every day. In North America, TFC continues to be the most watched source for Filipino-American programming on cable and satellite. Six unique channels - TFC, Cinema One Global, ANC, Pinoy Central, DZMM and DZRR - are distributed worldwide and are currently available on satellite.
